A big year
There’s two places you need to go often;
The place that heals you
The place that inspire you
It’s been a big year of travel!
Family commitments, a big birthday and the Rugby World Cup saw us on the move a lot. We returned to Sri Lanka, a pending trip for us for so many years. And we got to visit friends, most who we hadn’t seen for three long years, during COVID restrictions.
A travel highlight was taking trains all the way from Glasgow to Rome. Slow travel. It can be done. We were in no rush. The journey afforded us time together in Paris and a visit to friends who live nearby.
And there were a lot of flights:

Our year begins and ends in the beautiful Mother City. We’ve had the chance to pause and just enjoy the festive season and the South African summer.
As we reflect on the year, we are relishing a year ahead with less plans in place, more train travel and more spontaneous travel.
And so the sun sets on another year.
How does travel look for you in 2024?
